Shanghai BioScience's LABWAVE Launches Four New Instruments

New instruments address cell analysis, controlled incubation, automated observation and single-molecule sequencing

LABWAVE, Shanghai BioScience's laboratory instrument brand, supplies equipment for cell and molecular biology, general laboratory work, physical and chemical analysis, and liquid handling. Development starts with practical workflows and user needs, helping the team move quickly from application to instrument design.
In 2026, LABWAVE launched four instruments for distinct workflows: the WAVECELL™ cell counter, WAVEPOD™ tri-gas mini cell incubator, WAVEARK™ automated microscopic imaging incubator and WAVEQ™ fourth-generation sequencing system.
WAVECELL™ combines 6.3-megapixel CMOS imaging, phase enhancement and AI-assisted recognition. WAC-0001 supports brightfield and Trypan Blue viability testing; WAC-0002 adds fluorescence and AO/PI analysis. Original and recognised images appear together for review.
WAVEPOD™ provides independent temperature, carbon dioxide and oxygen control in a compact format. It supports hypoxic culture, small-batch studies and separate experimental conditions, with multiple units able to run independently.
WAVEARK™ combines incubation, vessel handling, microscopic imaging and remote monitoring. It accommodates microplates and T75 flasks, supports scheduled imaging of plates or selected wells, and provides cell counting, confluence analysis, cell-state classification and contamination identification.
WAVEQ™ uses single-molecule nanopore sequencing. WaveQPro WS-Q1000 supports approximately 20 bp to 15 kb fragments, run times from 10 minutes to six hours, Q30+ accuracy and a solid-state flow cell for up to ten runs.
Together, the launches show how LABWAVE turns laboratory feedback into products for changing research needs.
