Lab Innovations FAQs

General Information

Lab Innovations will take place on Wednesday 29th and Thursday 30th of October, at the NEC, Birmingham, Hall 2.

The show opens at 9 am each day, closing at 5 pm on day 1 and 4 pm on day 2. Plan your journey here

You do not need to print anything off in advance of the show. To ensure smooth and seamless interactions with exhibitors and features at the show you will be given a personal Smart Badge upon arrival. Your email confirmation shown on a device will secure your Smart Badge at the registration area.

Yes! Advanced Engineering is co-located with Lab Innovations, meaning you can walk from one straight to the other, using your badge for Lab Innovations.

The NEC will be able to provide you will a cloakroom, please find more information here.

No – we NEVER share visitor data. If you receive an email from Lab Innovations or any member of the team claiming to sell visitor lists please be aware this is a scam email. Report the sender and let a member of the team know so we can pass this on to our legal team.

Please note: This is not registration for the event, this will simply ensure you are reminded when you can register for your pass.

Yes – the show is free to attend but registration in advance is required. 

The event is for 16 and above only. If your child is above the age of 16, then they can register to attend the show (they will need their own pass).

By registering as a VIP visitor you will have exclusive access to the VIP lounge, allowing you to network with other VIPs and speakers, enjoy networking drinks and be entered into an exclusive VIP competition with many fantastic prizes.

If you are looking for exhibitors before Lab Innovations, you can search via category, product or sector on our exhibitor list. You can also discover products, services, job adverts and news items. You can reach out to exhibitors via the form at the bottom of their profile.

You will receive a Smart Badge when you arrive at the show. This will be your digital business card. By tapping your Smart Badge on readers around the show, you will be sent a convenient email at the end of the event highlighting all stands and features you have visited. No need to write anything down – you can just enjoy your day!

Yes! When you register to attend for Lab Innovations, please select that you are a member of the press/ a student when filling out the registration form.

You can invite your colleagues and network to join you for free by sharing a post when registration opens.

Just choose your favourite artwork and share on any social platform, or via email or whatsapp. Make sure to use the hashtag #LabInnovations2025 and don’t forget to tag us!

Exhibitor questions

If you need help with your My Easyfairs account, please get in contact with someone from the marketing team who can help. You can find their details hereYou can also sign up for our weekly exhibitor drop-in webinars here. 

The webshop on My Easyfairs will be opening soon, and you will receive an email when it does. You will be able to purchase items for your stand directly via My Easyfairs under the ‘Manage my stand’ section.

As sustainability champions we encourage you to take public transport to the show if possible. If you are driving, please book your parking in advance via the NEC website.  

Voyage control for stand builders will accept bookings closer to the event. You will be emailed once this is open.

My Easyfairs is the online portal for exhibitors at Lab Innovations. This is where you will manage all of your information for the show, from updating your company profile and logo to inviting clients and prosects to visit your stand. 

Once your stand has been booked you will automatically be sent access via email to the portal to log in. My Easyfairs has four easy sections, these are: 

  1. Manage your online profile (update your information that will pull through to the website and app)
  2. Invite your clients & prospects (share personal links and artwork to invite your network as your guest)
  3. Manage your stand (access the webshop, set up your smart badge readers and Visit Connect lead-generation tools)
  4. Track your performance (Keep track of how many leads you have collected over the event, as well as how your profile ranks among the exhibitors)

Visit Connect is a highly useful lead-generation tool to use onsite at Lab Innovations. It allows you to scan visitors badges with your mobile device, qualify leads by making notes, and download all information via My Easyfairs. These leads will be available immediately after the are scanned. 

Visit Connect is included as part of your EasyGo package. Information about this tool can be found on My Easyfairs under the ‘Manage your stand’ section. 

Smart Badge readers allow you to collect leads even without speaking to visitors. If a visitor is interested in your products or solutions, they can simply tap their Smart Badge on your Smart Badge reader and your information will be automatically exchanged. It’s exactly like a digital business card! 

This means you won’t miss any qualified leads, even if your team is busy speaking to clients or prospects, or away from the stand.  

Your EasyGo package will tell you how many readers you have for your stand: 

GoLeads – 1 reader 

GoPlus – 2 readers 

GoPremium – 3 readers 

Once the show is over and your readers have been returned, you will receive an email to download all Smart Badge touches. 

You can manage the information received by visitors in your My Easyfairs account under ‘Manage your stand’.

Conference questions

Lab Innovations provides access to 5 conference theatres as part of your pass. 

These are:

  • The Royal Society of Chemistry Theatre – the theme for 2025 is automation and robotics. The keynote speakers are hosted here each day at 1pm.
  • Insights & Innovations Theatre – the streams for 2025 are sustainability and automation/data/AI.
  • Quality Infrastrucuture Forum
  • Biotech Forum
  • Live Lab
