Digital Prototyping
Digital prototyping tools are increasingly used to virtually model and demonstrate key features during the product development process. STFC’s Development Team specialises in creating digital prototypes that bring complex technologies to life. Using advanced physics engines and modelling techniques, we visualise the behaviour and performance of real or conceptual systems in accurate, engaging ways. Our digital prototypes are powerful communication tools, helping to explain complex ideas, demonstrate functionality, and engage audiences — whether showcasing new innovations or recreating scenarios that are difficult or impossible to demonstrate physically. We design tailored digital environments to support each project, producing outputs ranging from imagery and video to immersive Augmented and Virtual Reality experiences for demonstration, training, and stakeholder engagement.

Distek 2500 Select Bathless Dissoluton Instrument
The Distek Model 2500 Select Bathless Dissolution System employs patented bathless technology with extremely short media heating times and dramatically smaller energy usage. The system offers great flexibility and configurability. It can be configured as USP Apparatus 1, 2, 5 and 6 plus intrinsic dissolution. Unparalleled control of the instrument plus automatic storage of component serial numbers and automatic qualification reminders make the Model 2500 Select robust and reliable enough for QC applications yet flexible enough for R&D use. Bathless Heating Eliminates the water bath and all associated maintenance. Heater jackets raise media temperatures from ambient to 37°C in less than 15 minutes, using considerably less energy in the process. Bathless design also allows high temperature operation up to 99°C. Wireless In-Shaft Temperature Sensors “Patent Pending” wireless temperature sensors control and monitor the temperature. • Continuously monitor, display and record the in-vessel temperature for each vessel • Ensure and document temperature compliance throughout the entire dissolution test • Eliminate additional labour to measure actual temperature in vessels Serialised Component Tracking Enter and track all serialized components including; paddles, baskets, basket adapters, shafts and vessels. Colour Touch Screen Display The icon driven user interface lowers overall cost by reducing training time and user errors while maximising productivity and command of the dissolution test. Electronic Qualification Guidance Settable automatic electronic instrument requalification reminders eliminate missed validation dates and ensures continuous instrument uptime. Quick Change Paddles and Baskets Interchangeable stirring elements coupled with the automatic height adjustment provide a fast transition between Apparatus 1 and 2 without having to remove the shaft.

Distek 2500 Select with Opt-Diss 410 in-situ Fibre Optic UV
Simplify dissolution automation with the Distek 2500 Select Bathless Dissolution Tester in combination with the Distek Opt-Diss In-Situ Fibre Optic UV. The Distek Opt-Diss 410 In-Situ Fibre-optic UV technology replaces traditional sampling methods to provide in-vessel dissolution measurements, multi-component analysis and complete dissolution profiles. All in the same time it takes to run the dissolution test! When paired with the Distek 2500 Select Dissolution Tester, efficiency is improved even further as each vessel is individually heated and the vessel temperature is continuously monitored. In-vessel temperatures are displayed and recorded for each vessel. Heater jackets raise media temperatures from ambient to 37°C in less than 15 minutes, using considerably less energy than a water bath in the process and eliminating all maintenance associated with a traditional water bath. The combination of the two provides an automated dissolution analysis. Fill the vessels with media, places doses in the tablet droppers and set up the method on the Distek Opt-Diss 410. The Distek 2500 Select will automatically introduce the doses and start the dissolution test when the defined vessel temperature is reached. The Distek Opt-Diss 410 will take UV absorbance readings in the vessels at the required sampling points throughout the dissolution test and build the dissolution profile in near real-time. At the end of the test the Distek 2500 Select with automatically stop heating and stirring. The dissolution data will be stored in a secure folder on the built-in PC within the Distek Opt-Diss 410. No sampling, no filtering, no flushing lines, no media replacement, lower energy consumption and no single-use plastic waste.

Distek Eclipse 5300 Automated Dissolution Sampler
The Distek Eclipse 5300 Automated Dissolution Sampler offers rapid, accurate sampling using precision syringe pumps. The elimination of valves and rotary pumps along with the optimized sample pathway with a minimal 4.5 mL internal volume increases reliability while reducing common sources of sample carryover. Adding a lower-cost ‘child’ sampler is a cost-effective way to sample from two baths. Each of the baths may run the same method or two different independent ones. The integrated optional filter changer enables the use of most common 25 mm syringe filters instead of requiring custom filter plates and also additional bench space. No Valves or Rotary Pumps Significantly increases reliability while eliminating a source of contamination. Rapid / Accurate Sampling Precision syringes and reduced sample pathway allows for rapid time point collection with high precision. Dual Bath Control The dual bath configuration allows two different and independent dissolution methods to be run at any time. Method Audit Trail The method audit trail is an integral requirement of an electronic record, ensuring the validity and integrity of the record. The Eclipse 5300 records time, date and user for the original method and subsequent edits. Media Recycling and Replacement Media Recycling and Replacement offer the advantage of returning unused media and replacing the collected sample volume for ease of dissolution calculations. Colour Touch Screen Display The icon driven user interface lowers overall cost by reducing training time and user errors while maximising productivity and command of the Autosampler. Filter Changer The optional, integrated filter changer uses readily available 25 mm syringe filters without the need for custom filter plates or additional bench space.
