Semi-automated dissolution vessel washing and media handling system

The dissoWASH&DOSE from MEREL Instruments is a semi-automated vessel washing and media handling system for pharmaceutical dissolution testing. Depending on the program selected, the dissolution vessels are emptied, rinsed and filled with fresh media. All three steps are performed subsequently on each vessel, using only one tool and with no adjustments or additional steps necessary. In addition, the upper tester parts (shafts, evaporation covers, cannulas and probes) can be washed using a second handheld tool.

As the dissoWASH&DOSE is battery operated and mounted on robust wheels, it can then be moved over to the next dissolution tester and the procedure repeated. Up to 5 testers with 6 vessels (900 mL) or an equivalent of 9 testers with 6 vessels (500 mL) can be attended to before an other stop at the refill station is necessary.

Once full, the waste tank can be easily emptied into a designated container at the push of a button using quick connect tubing fittings, this in combination with direct waste collection from the vessel, simplifies the disposable procedure and minimises handling and contact with waste solutions. This aids and encourages safe, responsible waste handling and disposal by making it easy and convenient.
