MultiNA II Brings Simpler, Smarter Electrophoresis to the Lab

Streamline nucleic acid analysis with Shimadzu’s MultiNA II MCE-301. Automated workflows, real-time data review and sensitivity down to 5 pg/µL support RNA, DNA, NGS and genome-editing applications while saving time and bench space.

Shimadzu’s MultiNA II MCE-301 simplifies nucleic acid analysis with an automated microchip electrophoresis workflow supporting RNA, DNA, NGS and genome-editing applications.

Users simply load samples and reagents, start the run and the system automatically handles dispensing, separation, detection and chip rinsing. Real-time data display allows results to be reviewed as analysis progresses, while preparation takes as little as 10 minutes. Automated dilution, pause-and-reload functionality and dedicated data analysis software help improve efficiency in busy laboratories.

MultiNA II introduces enhanced RNA and DNA capabilities, including RNA Integrity Index (RII) calculation, automated DNA fingerprinting and grouping analysis. With sensitivity down to 5 pg/µL, it supports low-concentration samples and applications including RNA quality assessment, mRNA purity analysis, NGS library QC, genotyping and mutation detection. The system also reduces power consumption by 30% and lowers water use compared with the previous model.
