Level 3 - Laboratory Technician Apprenticeship
Apprentices will learn: • How to work safely in a laboratory • Prepare laboratory tasks using appropriate scientific techniques • Use of laboratory equipment and specified instrumentation, including calibration. • Apply Scientific data for presentation e.g. statistics.
Level 2 - Science Manufacturing Process Operative
Apprentices will learn: • Carry out process manufacturing operations using or operating plant or equipment in line with standard operating procedures • Arrange and prepare materials for process activity • Carry out pre-start checks of equipment and process before run or as part of handover responsibilities • Monitor the process and resolve or escalate issues. • Contribute to quality control: conduct quality checks and escalate concerns
Level 3 — Science Manufacturing Technician (SMT) Biotechnology
Apprentices will learn: • Biotechnology Manufacture and Preparation Processes • Legislation, Regulations and Standards in Biotechnology Principles • Maintenance and Calibration in Biotechnology • Clean Room Design and Behaviours
