Nickel-Electro Ltd. is an independent, family owned, British manufacturing company based in the Southwest of England. We design and manufacture a wide range of products for the education and industrial market including the popular Clifton Range® of water baths. We also manufacture a range of hotplates, mixers, ovens and incubators.
In addition, the company produce laboratory Metalware™, including spatulas, tongs and crucibles etc.
All manufacturing processes are carried out in our UK factory to ensure that the highest standards of quality control are strictly adhered to and that lead times are closely monitored. This ensures a flexible and fast response to changing demands.

NE2D Shallow Water Baths
Digital shallow water baths are ideal for heating small height samples such as micro tubes, micro plates and bottles and economically priced without compromising quality. Featuring bold LED display of measured temperatures in real-time, increments of ±0.1°C, using precision PID temperature control. Comprising of a high quality corrosion resistant stainless steel tank, with a bright clean finish housed in a durable paint finished outer case. Painted surfaces feature anti-bacterial finish with good chemical resistance. Temperature range: Ambient +5°C - 100°C. Sensitivity: ±0.2°C. Uniformity: ±0.1°C. Thermal cut out fitted in the heater. Temperature setting is retained in memory, even after ‘power off’. Robust with side lifting handles and supplied with perforated shelf for even heat distribution. Features auto setting over and under temperature alarm protecting samples at set temperature.
NE1B Analogue Boiling Water Baths
litre boiling bath is designed for applications that require continuous boiling. This bath also has flexibility where the control can be regulated from a gentle simmer to a vigorous boil. Fitted with a sheathed immersion element immersed in water provides rapid boiling. Features a constant level device, which maintains a fixed level of liquid thereby eliminating the need to regularly top up the bath. Comprising of a high quality corrosion resistant stainless steel tank, with a bright clean finish housed in a durable outer case. Painted surfaces feature anti-bacterial finish with good chemical resistance. Analogue dial, energy regulator. Simmer to boiling at 100°C.
NE1BD Digital Boiling Water Baths
Digital boiling water baths are designed for applications that require continuous boiling. This bath also has flexibility where the control can be regulated from a gentle simmer to a vigorous boil. Fitted with a sheathed immersion element immersed in water provides rapid boiling. Features a constant level device, which maintains a fixed level of liquid thereby eliminating the need to regularly top up the bath. Comprising of a high quality corrosion resistant stainless steel tank, with a bright clean finish housed in a durable outer case. Painted surfaces feature anti-bacterial finish with good chemical resistance. Simmer 80°C to boiling at 105°C. Drain tap fitted.
NE4D Classic Stirred Digital Water Baths
Clifton stirred digital water baths feature a digital PID temperature controller, bold LED display of measured temperature in real-time and in increments of ±0.1°C. Designed for immersion of flasks, bottles, racks in an accurate temperature environment throughout the water bath. Efficient water movement and temperature control provides accurate temperature stability throughout the water bath. When a low liquid is detected a 'FILL' message automatically appears and heating is suspended. Over and under temperature alarms automatically protect samples in the bath. Audible and visual over-temperature alarm/cut out. Temperature range ambient +5 - 99°C. Sensitivity ±0.05°C. Uniformity ±0.01°C. Timer - variable, 00.01 to 99.59 hh:mm. Stainless steel thermostirrer control panel and painted surfaces feature anti-bacterial technology which inhibits bacterial growth.
NE5-28D Digital Shaking Water Bath
28 litre digital shaking water bath, featuring precision PID control, allowing observation of set and actual temperature simultaneously. A broad range of accessory flask clips and racks ensure flexibility for routine and specialised work. Comprising of a high quality corrosion resistant stainless steel tank, with a bright clean finish housed in a durable outer case. Painted surfaces feature anti-bacterial finish with good chemical resistance. Featuring bold LED display of measured temperatures in real-time, increments of ±0.1°C, using precision PID temperature control. Temperature range: Ambient +5°C - 99°C (-15°C with accessory cooling). Clifton Triplebaths - three chambers in one space saving model
Triplebath™ features three independently controlled unstirred water baths in one unit.Typically suitable for classroom use performing PCR routines in shallow temperature controlled water, each tank can be set to a different temperature for denaturing, annealing and elongation – reducing solvent and consumables. Comprising of high quality corrosion resistant stainless steel tanks, with a bright clean finish housed in a durable paint finished outer case. Painted surfaces feature anti-bacterial finish with good chemical resistance. Fitted with side lifting handles for ease of transportation. Each chamber comes complete with a removable Clifton “low” height stainless steel perforated shelf. Temperature range +5°C - 99°C.

The NE1D series educational lab baths are designed for school, college and university use and are built comprising of a high quality corrosion resistant stainless steel tank and with a bright clean finish housed in a durable paint finished outer case. Painted surfaces feature anti-bacterial finish with good chemical resistance. Educational lab baths are fitted with side lifting handles for ease of transportation. Temperature range +5°C - 99°C.

Clifton Incubators
Easy to use controls with a bold illuminated LED display, offering precise temperature control from ambient +5°C to 100°C with timer function. Ideal for microbiology. These digital scientific incubators can run at set temperature immediately, use run back timer or enable a delay start feature. Can be configured for gravity convection or with variable fan speed providing forced air circulation within the chamber. The chamber is constructed from high quality stainless steel with high efficiency thermal insulation, contained within an outer steel housing with anti-bacterial paint finish. With energy efficiency in mind, particular attention is paid to robust design, insulation, a tight door closure with silicone seal and hinge design to maintain chamber temperatures with intelligent temperature control.
Bath Armor
Bath Armor™ or bath beads are moisture and gas impermeable with high thermal conductivity. Smooth and rounded beads that replaces water. Designed for water baths. Cleaning frequency reduced. No water borne contamination. Can be washed or sterilised. Good thermal heat distribution. Maintains temperature stability better than water. Bath can remain always on and ready to use when using bath beads. Bottles and tubes stay in place, removing the need for racks. Environmentally friendly. Made from recyclable material. Can be autoclaved.
Clifton NE4-SB Universal Thermostirrer
Clifton Range NE4-SB features a digital PID temperature controller which provides even water circulation and temperature stability. Designed to be fully compatible and easy to fit onto an array of tanks and vessels. Built in the United Kingdom using stainless steel and other premium quality materials. Featuring a low-level float device, which ensures heating is switched off if the liquid falls below the recommended level. Temperature range: Ambient +5°C – 99°C. Heater power 2000W. 3 Year warranty.
Clifton Drying Oven
Clifton drying ovens feature intuitive easy to use controls with a bold illuminated LED display, offering precise temperature control from ambient +5°C to 300°C with timer functions. These ovens can run at set temperature immediately, use run back timer or enable a delay start feature. Can be configured for gravity convection or with variable fan speed providing forced air circulation within the chamber. The oven chamber is constructed from high quality stainless steel with high efficiency thermal insulation, contained within an outer steel housing with anti-bacterial paint finish. Clifton Digital Hotplate
This digital hotplate features a precision PID control providing degree-by-degree temperature setting and control, for refined hotplate sensitivity. Temperature and time settings are retained in memory, even after power off. Featuring a hob surface, which is solid aluminium, 12mm thick for excellent thermal properties and uniform heat distribution over its working area. This overlaps the body to ensure that no spillages enter the controls.
Clifton ultrasonic water bath
The NE3DT pro digital water baths feature precision temperature control with an option to enable a run back or delay start timer, the latter useful for pre-conditioning water temperature before use. Controls feature auto alarm setting, illuminated on/off switch, heater and over temperature indications. Supplied with clear hinged lid,* convenient to use, all condensate runs back into the bath in either open or closed positions. Also features a durable gated drain tap** designed to quickly empty the water bath, painted antibacterial surfaces and touch flush fitting controls, with illuminated LED display for temperature and time values.

NE1M-25, Clifton Mini Incubator
The Mini Incubator is a compact, durable model ideal for sample incubation in education or laboratory settings. The 25 litre chamber is manufactured from high quality corrosion resistant stainless steel within a steel body, with antibacterial paint finish. The PID temperature controller is secured behind a lockable polycarbonate clear door, to prevent unauthorised adjustment and allows full view of the chamber. Supplied with 2 stainless steel removable perforated shelves, the chamber is designed to take multiple petri dishes and 1 litre bottles.
