Agilent has recognised Professor Zongwei Cai’s research into PFAS detection, supporting the development of advanced analytical methods for environmental and public health research.

Agilent Technologies has presented an Agilent Research Catalyst (ARC) Award to Professor Zongwei Cai at the Eastern Institute of Technology, Ningbo, recognising his work in developing advanced analytical methods for detecting PFAS and other emerging contaminants. The award supports research into one of the most pressing challenges in environmental and public health, helping scientists better understand the impact of trace contaminants.

Professor Cai’s research combines advanced mass spectrometry, innovative sample preparation techniques and organoid-based toxicology platforms to connect chemical detection with biological impact. By integrating these technologies, his team aims to create a more comprehensive framework for assessing environmental contaminants and their potential effects on human health.

The ARC Award includes research funding alongside Agilent instrumentation, enabling Professor Cai’s team to continue advancing contaminant detection and toxicological assessment. The collaboration reflects Agilent’s ongoing commitment to supporting scientific innovation through partnerships with leading researchers worldwide.
