£15bn boost could spark wave of UK lab spin-outs beyond Oxford, Cambridge & London

A new report commissioned by Pioneer Group and The Crown Estate calls for £15 billion to fuel UK university spin-outs over the next decade. The funding could create 1,700 new ventures, 56,000 jobs, and attract up to £320 billion in returns. But researchers warn investment is too heavily concentrated in the ‘golden triangle’ of Oxford, Cambridge, and London. By replicating Oxford Science Enterprises’ model nationwide, underfunded regions could unlock untapped economic and scientific potential.
