Urine Tests Offer Hope for Early Lung Cancer Detection

Cambridge researchers have developed a simple urine test capable of detecting early-stage lung cancer. The test uses an innovative molecular probe to identify proteins from ‘zombie’ cells—damaged cells that often signal the initial stages of cancer.

This breakthrough method is affordable, highly accessible, and could be used in hospital labs without expensive imaging tools like CT scans. It has the potential to provide earlier diagnoses, significantly improving outcomes for patients.
