Take a look at last years categories

Last year we introduced six new categories, take a look at the fourteen categories from 2023 to get a taste for when this years categories are announced… 

The judges were looking for evidence of excellence across sustainability, innovation, automation, staff development and collaboration, and standout examples of progress and advancement

This was presented to a prominent figure who has made their career in the laboratory industry and significantly impacted on both their own organisations and the sector as a whole.

Anybody who knew an individual who they feel is deserving of this prize could make a nomination.

For any lab to operate effectively, it must have a properly skilled and well-trained team of people.

Entrants provided evidence of how their training enables their employees to develop personally, expand their knowledge, and more.

Entry was open to any organisation operating within the laboratory sector.

This award celebrated the achievements and commitment to our industry from an extraordinary individual.

It was presented to a prominent figure who has made their career in the laboratory industry and significantly impacted on both their own organisations and the sector as a whole.

Anybody who knew an individual who they feel is deserving of this prize can make a nomination.

This award recognises new talent, identifying individuals who have made a significant impact on the provision of services within their organisation and who are demonstrating potential to shine in the future.

Entrants to this category must be nominated by someone working with them within their organisation, or by a client.

This category focused on the implementation of digital/smart technology in order to optimise accuracy, efficiency and transparency of operation.

It was open to all labs. Nominations were also welcome from technology providers who have developed solutions in collaboration with their laboratory client.

The Supplier Excellence Award recognised excellence in customer support in the areas of expertise, advice and supply chain challenges.

Entrants demonstrated how they worked to form a close relationship with a key client.

The Sustainable Laboratory of the Year Award recognised the progress made towards Net-Zero and sustainability in the lab. It was open to all labs

The Best Sustainable Product Award recognised significant progress in product innovation toward Net-Zero and the circular economy.

This award was not just about making products that are ‘green’, it was about taking a holistic approach to the entire lifecycle of that product, including the development and how it is made.

The Best Technology Innovation Award recognised the most significant product or service innovation.

This could be a ground-breaking new technology, or alternatively a step change to an existing solution.

This new category was created from the ‘Best Technology Innovation’ to have a wider focus on the automation side of new technology. 

The Best Collaborative Project Award recognised the impact of cooperation between organisations.

The judges looked for projects that have been successfully undertaken by stakeholders from different organisations

The Best Consumables Innovation Award was given to the most innovative lab consumable, whether it is new or redeveloped.
